The Tarps Experience
“I always say the number one thing I love about tarps is having a friend group that supports me in my passion for music but also in my passion for every other aspect of my life. If I’m having a bad day they are the ones there to pick me up. If I have a big event coming up, they always come to support me! I’ve never felt so supported or valued as I do by this group and I’m incredibly thankful for every day. Also they are the funniest people I know so that’s an added bonus!”

“Tarps has been hands down the best thing I’ve done in college (by far!). I’ve never felt so connected with a group of people that I could hang out with every single one of them one-on-one and feel so at ease. This group is truly a family that genuinely loves and cares for each other - I joined the group as a first year and was involved in a lot of different things on campus, and Tarps always stood out as a place where everyone is accepted. This group is so good at bringing out the unique strengths in people, and I have grown so much as a singer, musician, and a person from being here. Tarps has taught me what it means to be a community. It’s also just so fun to have this many lovely and talented friends to sing with!”

“I like singing. The Tarps sing. Perfect match.”

“For me, Tarps are one of the most compassionate and loving groups I’ve ever been a part of. Being in the group has always given me a lot of comfort, especially during recent times; having such a close-knit group of friends has gotten me through a lot of lonely times. This group is full of so many talented and amazing individuals that making music with them is a true joy."

"Being in the Tarps has been one of the best experiences in my life in so many different ways! For one, I haven’t learned and grown so much as a musician before as I have in this group because each member has such a strong passion for creativity and collaboration. Not only that, the Tarps have become some of my closest friends who I’ve made so many amazing memories with. As someone whose first year of college was conducted almost purely over group chats, emails, and zoom calls, I’m continually amazed at how many tight bonds I made and how much I learned from each person in this group.”
